A New Journey:  Post-Secondary Education for Students with Asperger's Syndrome

Presenters:  James Williams

Motivational Speaker, College Student with Asperger's

Jacquelyn Tomlinson, MA

Director of Services and Autism Specialist, FOCUS Initiative

This interactive presentation will provide a first hand account of an individual with Asperger's Syndrome who is advancing through the post-secondary education environment. James will discuss which strategies and resources have and have not been successful in his life and how a family and their school can adequately prepare for the difficult challenge ahead. This session will demonstrate that any child with Asperger's Syndrome, who is provided with the appropriate social and educational interventions, can be fully independent and successful in their post-secondary life.
