FOCUS Initiative
offers consultation services to meet the various needs of our students, their
parents, service providers, teachers and school personnel.
Life planning is critical for individuals with spectrum
disorders/social cognitive deficits and is vital in helping them become
active, productive and independent members of society. We often consult with parents,
especially those who have just received an initial diagnosis for their child, to
assist them in planning and preparing for their child's future needs. We
offer guidance in finding appropriate intervention programs, therapists,
clinicians, schools and those service providers who are knowledgeable and sensitive to the unique
needs of a child with an autism spectrum disorder. We also consult with
parents of older children to help them develop transition plans for moving from one level of school to another
and to offer guidance regarding job preparation and independent living
strategies.Parent

Consultation Fee is $100 per hour.
Because children with spectrum
disorders can face many challenges in the classroom, we work closely with
schools to plan and implement appropriate educational programs for our students.
Consultations with teachers, classroom aides, speech therapists, occupational
therapists, support providers, counselors and administrators are an important component of our work.
