Changing The World One Life At A Time

Summer 2010 Programs

OPTION 1: SUMMER CAMPS

Looking for a fun, safe, but socially educational place to enroll your child this summer?  Students ages 4-18 will be grouped according to age and needs.  Our summer camp will help your child develop character, learn valuable life skills, make new friends and discover new interests.

Due to parent request, we have extended our camp sessions to three weeks each (up from two weeks each last summer) and added Fridays this year. This summer, our students will participate in fun summer activities at one of our two ALL NEW LOCATIONS (Stafford or Katy)!

Activities will include social skills lessons, painting, drama, outdoor water activities, indoor gross motor games, field trips to the Children's Museum, bowling, local parks, libraries, fire stations and much, much more!  We have designed a summer program to meet the unique social needs of our students without them even knowing that they are still learning!

Choose one, two or all three sessions...

Session 1 (June 14 - July 2) 9am-12noon, 1pm-4pm or full day available

With small class sizes of 5-10 students (depending on age and needs) camps will fill up fast!

OPTION 2: SUMMER KINDERGARTEN BRIDGE PROGRAM

Looking for a bridge program to prepare your child for the social, emotional and academic demands of the current kindergarten classroom or improve the school readiness skills of a student completing kindergarten?  Our full day summer program (June 14 - August 13, 2010 8:30am - 2:30pm) may be just what your child needs to complete their school readiness.

We have designed a summer bridge program to meet the needs of those students that will be entering kindergarten in the Fall of 2010 or completed kindergarten in spring 2010 but are still lacking appropriate school behavior skills (i.e. attending to task, independent seat work, following directions given to a group).  Cost for our entire summer bridge program is only $3000 (compare to $4000-$6000 for similar programs in the area!!)

With a small class sizes of 5-7 students at each location, the groups will be full before you know it!

OPTION 3: ONCE/TWICE WEEKLY SOCIAL UNDERSTANDING GROUPS

These groups are similar to our after school social understanding groups.  The only difference is that they run for 8 weeks (versus 12 weeks during the school year) and are 1 1/2 hours each (versus 1 during school year).  Click here for a description of the types of lessons taught in these groups.

Please note that each group is individualized to meet the needs of the students in that group.  Therefore, no two groups or semesters are the same.  Each client must complete a free screening to be placed with the most appropriate peers and social coach to meet his/her individual needs.

The cost for this program is $600 for the summer.  A non-refundable deposit of 20% is required to secure placement in this program.

OPTION 4: FOCUS ACADEMY SUMMER PROGRAM

If your child is currently enrolled for Fall 2010 in one of our academy programs, our summer academic/camp combo program may just be the best mix of academics and social time your child needs this summer!

Depending on enrollment, we are currently looking at only running this program in our Katy location.  The morning will be spent on goals, affirmations and typical core subjects, while the afternoons will consist of extra curricular activities (i.e. drama, music, outdoor activities), community outings and lessons in social understanding.

Cost for the entire academy summer program is $3000.  Class size is limited to 10 students and will be held from 8:30am - 3:30pm and the dates of this program are June 14 - August 13.
